Regenerative Grazing and Soil Health - Livestock on the Land

Hear from three farmers about how they have incorporated different grazing systems to help improve their soil health and ensure their topsoil is safe from erosion.

Tom Wind of Jamaica, Iowa, partnered with his neighbor to experiment with grazing cattle on seeded annuals to improve his land that used to be primarily a corn and soybean operation.

Fifth generation farmer Seth Smith of Nemaha, Iowa, has seen the benefits of a no-till cover crop system, but says that adding livestock into this equation has put his soil regeneration into overdrive.

Francis Thicke of Fairfield, Iowa, uses rotational grazing to not only feed his dairy cows, but to naturally fertilize his land.

The farm looks beautiful and grass. It needs few trees as well where animals can take shade, cool down and scratch. I don't know why farmers remove all trees to maximize grass land.
