Peluso P28 vs Soyuz Su-011

Stereo pairs of each microphone model were set up in identical positions. Signal chain is through API 512c microphone preamps into Avid HDX conversion at 24/96k.

The P28 and Su-011 files are comped together in a seamless performance. The video indicates the microphones being played.

SU 0-11 seems darker and fuller... mellower and more natural too. I like it.

The Soyuz has nice clarity, but the Peluso has a huge sound that I lean toward. Both sound great.

Peluso sounds a little more detailed and a little brighter for sure. The Soyuz is creamier and lacks hype. Both are good but if I had to choose one I would go with the Soyuz. I typically lean towards darker sounding mics. The Peluso cant seem to shake that hint of Chinese mic sound thats in its lineage.

Feels like no contest for me; peluso feels really well balanced with more definition and air.
