Soyuz Su-011 vs Neumann KM84

The Su-011 and KM84 files are comped together in a seamless performance. The video indicates the microphones being played.

I loved the Soyuz 013 for a good while but it’s just become strident over time for me. The km84 just has this nicer more natural laid back sound that I prefer after the initial excitement of Soyuz left.

Neumanns have a beautiful response, flat and transparent, very detailed, but the harmonic richness, the creamy sound, the golden trebel of Soyuzs are simply fascinating. SU011 sounds more like a KM54 than a KM84. Wonderful mic

They sound nearly identical. You should close your eyes and pause where you hear the mics change and see how close your time stamps are to these.

The Neumann is like a sound that we always want to return to...especially for this style of playing. The Soyuz sings a different tune that's just as pleasing, but in its own way. The Soyuz tends to sound more 3D'ish, but not too bright. It really depends on how either sounds with a band or ensemble, and the style of music.

What do you think the Soyuz would sound like into one of the SSL SiX miniature consoles instead of a Neve? What about the tube Soyuz? I love the sound of both, but I think Soyuz is more often what I'd reach for

It's a poor comparison because we only hear those nice bass runs on the Neumanns.

Neumann is warmer and a bit darker and with some magic and softness in sound that the Soyuz do not has
