I went with this exact spec and it is by far the best computer I have ever owned. Your logic is exactly what guided me to this. I am very glad I didn't spend the extra money for the Macbook Pro, as I really can't find a use case for it based on my needs. I bought the MacBook Air 13 M4 512GB Sky Blue, which is fast, lightweight, and stunning. However, I’m undecided about the MacBook Pro 14 M4. It’s $300 more expensive, has a better (+0.6” larger) screen, better sound, a 1h longer battery, HDMI, and additional USB-C port, but it’s slightly heavier and fatter. I think the 15” model is too big for mobility, but Pro isn't bad.
