Why Does Cement Spew So Much CO2?

Cement is responsible for 8% of humanity’s carbon dioxide emissions, which is a problem if we want to build more cities. To reduce the carbon dioxide emitted by the production of cement, people are trying to replace limestone with other types of materials.

Concrete absorbs CO2 as it cures. So much so that pre-fabricated concrete forms are sometimes rested in CO2 rich atmospheres so the forms will be stronger when sold.

Is this included in the 1 : 0.9 concrete to CO2 ratio, or is just the production considered?

So make up your mind! Should we or should we not live like rats, like recommended in the other video where low density cities are not environmentally friendly.
You know, commute like sardines, break our necks to see the sky, never know how the horizon looks when the sun sets.
I lived in a metropolis, I HATED IT. Now I live in a low density city, and have a small garden, I can go out and look at the sky without breaking my neck and have 3 cats who can come in and go out to live freely. But of course, I'm evil because I'm not sharing the space with 30 other people.
I will, when the rich also do. When the rich also have only one house, ( otherwise it equates to a larger total owned space by individual ), when I can knock on my neighbour Jeff Besos' wall to keep it quiet.

You get the picture. If there is inequality when it comes to who can harm the environment based on income, I refuse to degrade my already miserable life even further because " Environment ".

It's easy, nature does not need humans. This planet had several extinction level events. Humans might not survive but nature will, nature always will. So stop pretending you care about the nature when you only care about the human race.
Creatures have always gone extinct, way before we even existed, or the closest thing to a human was a dimetrodon. But unlike how we were able to protect dumb animals like pandas from naturally going extinct because of their inability to adapt to changing environment, those creatures went extinct, without anyone pointing finger at another.

I feel like it should be said that cement in the active binding agent in concrete and we use things like sand and gravel as additional material, but what is interesting is cement blocks are just as strong as concrete blocks, and concrete uses less cement. So we are already trying to make the cement go as far as possible.
