Power spikes are present in all electronics and is unrelated to the melting. The melted cables is caused by an unbalanced load over the bunch of cables, causing one to carry the majority while the others barely carry any amperage. This over TIME (like a play session) melts stuff.

So basically all 4090/5090 cards are a safety hazards. And if you know know this and decide to use it anyway. When it catches fire your insurance will not cover any damage what's so ever. If for example your home burns down.

Because you deliberately went agenst the recommendations to not use a product with such high fault of margin and design fault.

In other words, you choose to deliberately use a product that is not safe and with a high risk of creating a fire.
