If Google was not banned definitely without a doubt Huawei would have been the No 1 smart phones in the world, as they dominated back in the days when there were no restrictions from Google for 3 consecutive years 2014, 2015, 2016 Tey were No 1 in the world.

I wish Huawei wasn’t banned. The apps I need for work etc all use google. If I didn’t need to use google apps so much I would definitely switch. Urgh frustrating. The mate 50 in black and gold is a FIT phone too.

Watching this on my Mate 20 X. This phone is still the best phone ive ever used. I hope Huawei can make a new version of it. The Mate X3 is pretty sweet too.

Inclusion of expandable storage, IR BLASTER, video out is a slap in the face of all the other mfgs who robbed us of it. Bravo, Huawei! This makes it a true smart phone, compatible with the tech all around it. It's the way to go. I've used LG specifically because of this mature logic, including having the audio jack.

Watching this on my Huawei Mate 50 Pro without Google services.
Not having Google spyware it's actually a good thing.
And also a good thing for battery life and cheaper price is not having a 5G modem.
4G it's plenty for watching 4K videos.
5G would mean I have to spend a lot more on my network bills and drain the battery much quicker because 5G loses connection very often which means it would have to switch between antennas all the time.
So 4G is cheaper to produce, cheaper for me to pay on phone bills, has better battery life, better coverage.
5G in Europe it's basically a scam or a useless feature at the very least for the next few years.

It has basically everything except google play services and a headphone jack. Hell, the Huawei still has removable storage. I wish I could use it here in the states.

As of July 2024, this is still the most recent foldable screen smartphone to have external storage card support. It might be Huawei's own proprietary NM card slot instead of the universal microSD card slot, but you can still have extra secondary storage on the phone itself for offline backup.
