O'Neill cylinders and ringworlds are an old as hell concept, but still fun. This movie, Deponia, Halo, Mass Effect, and Elite: Dangerous are all inspired by this idea.

This is one I am definitely going to add to the popcorn bucket list of movie thrillers to see.  Jodi Foster is and has always been one of my favorite actresses so I am certain that will add to the credibility of this tale.  At first glance the message here seems to be the manifestation of the radiant city temple know by various names based on the faith being observed.  A compass like comparison of the title Elysium to Ezekiel is in order as is Medina.  So in this case of serendipitous or synchronous "E"s the expression "My God Strengthen him in the after life results.  So the CGI looks great and within the realm of believability, IT's action packed and the bar is raised.

Actually it's borderline Ringworld. Larry Niven invented the concept in 1970 for Ringworld, and Iain M. Banks wrote about similar "Orbitals" in his Culture novel, Consider Phlebas. Halo and Mass Effect's Citadel/Presidium borrowed the idea, just like ME's Reapers are borrowed from Alastair Reynolds' Revelation Space.

Pretty much any video game or movie scifi concept was taken from the best SF authors.

Correct me if i´m wrong but this looks like a ripoff from a german adventure Game called "Deponia"
The Whole poverty on Earth and the with lots of money in Elysium (it´s called like that there too)
The Protagonist too wants to go to Elysium to have a better life

why in the fuck would they advertise the fact that it was made by the same person as district 9... that movie was the worst piece of fucking cinema garbage in the last 20 years or more.
