Fun fact! While Dedede’s hammer *is* the same for all alts, the files are actually copy-pasted 8 times in the files- they’re not shared between alts, so it would literally just be as simple for the dev team as grayscaling a few textures and being done

14:55 Honestly, Dark Samus’s smash attacks not being the same as her assist trophy attacks from SSB4 is kind of a missed opportunity. I mean, they basically come out like smash attacks if you think about it, and it would help differentiate her from regular Samus a bit more.

In Smash 4 3DS I recall that it would save what colour you used on each character so that you didn't need manually pick it everytime, and they never brought it back in Ultimate despite it being easy to work in I think, just attach it to the names or something

Personally, the one thing that pains me about Smash Ultimate, is Sakurai went through the trouble of making the Yoshi series separate from Mario, yet gives them no new fighters, assist trophies or items in any game. Like, why bother unless we get something to make it it's own thing.

I’ll always disagree with people’s takes on echo fighters. I like how they are, little to no changes. It’s just quick representation, essentially a skin of a completely different character. Which is why you can even have them together on the screen select (which I’ve never done). It’s just an easy way to get more representation. I’ll always be more mad there was never a echo fighter dlc pack.

cool fact about the pokemon alts, charizard's shiny IS in... if you count his gen 2 shiny alone, because back in gold and silver, shiny charizard was purple with green wings, which is exactly how one of his alts is in smash

13:37 I agree with this, however I think isabelle is different enough and chrom also can be on his own. also, dr. mario is from melee and echo's weren't introduced until ultimate or maybe you could make a case for echo's being in smash 4.

Besides the stuff with Sonic's representation, moveset and stage choices. Which as much as I love Sonic, his representation in Smash is wrought with wasted potential.

However, if I had something to complain about in Smash Ultimate. I hate that we didn't get New Codec calls for Shadow Moses Island. David Hayter was more than happy to do more lines, and fans have been making their own for YEARS. So When we finally did get an opportunity to have new, fun Codec Calls for Returning Veterans or Newcomers who've never played Brawl when Snake did return to the Series.

They just used the same exact ones from Brawl with no changes what so ever. It's still cool you can access them. But if you ask me, this was a massive waste of potential.

While I do think sonic could definitely have less moves where he's a ball, most of his moves being a ball makes sense. That's his main thing other than personality and speed. Plus, frontiers didn't exist or even enter development by the time Ultimate came out, and frontiers was the BEST in showcasing what Sonic can really do. Heres hoping we get a lot of frontiers representation in music, stage, and moveset in the next smash game.

One thing that annoys me is that Splatoon 3 automatically saves replays, while if you forget to save the replay in Ultimate it's never seen again.

I mean if we are counting all shiny forms including ones from previous generations then technically Charizard kinda has his gen 2 shiny which is the purple alt but the inside of the wings is off
