About The Guest:
Mike is an expert in ultralight backpacking, and is the author and illustrator of a series of instructional books on advanced outdoor techniques, everything from how to cook, how to climb, how to survive and more. He is the author of the highly praised book, The Messengers, in which he explores the mysterious connections between owls, synchronicities, and UFO abductions. In fact, it was his own firsthand experiences with these elusive effects that have been the foundation of his research. Besides “The Messengers,” he has written the companion book, “Stories from the Messengers” which continues his research into the owl connection. Also “Hidden Experience” about his own personal experiences. As he says, “I wrote about the most difficult time of my life as it was happening, and posted it on a blog. I’d been confronted with a chain of strange events that all pointed to one thing, and I was forced to ask myself, ‘Am I a UFO abductee?’” Most recently he wrote the novel, “The Unseen,” which is a paranormal thriller about a town full of mysteries and secrets, ghosts and premonitions and more! That’s more than 30 books at last count! He is a podcaster, and hosted “The Unseen” on Whitley Strieber’s Unknown Country website, and has appeared on Coast to Coast and most of the major UFO/paranormal podcasts.

Mike C, as a kid in early 1970s in Woodstock, Ontario, I saw a mysterious red-orange flash lighting up the whole sky too! Like an explosion or red lightning but no thunder or sound. Was winter, Christmas Eve (and I joked that it was Rudolph's nose!). But never came up with a satisfactory explanation. So when you described this, it really caught my attention!

I saw a 60ft diameter disk in Northern California just north of Sacramento in 1974 or 1975. When he said glowing charcoal I almost fell over, the craft I saw looked like glowing orange charcoal just before it goes out. I have told everyone I know that it looked like that. The first time I have ever heard someone describe it like that, I feel like it might be the same craft. Just awesome!

I have enjoyed reading several of Mike's books, including his latest fictional novel. Living in a hardwood forest, one would think I would see and hear more owls but I have only heard a few the last few years. But at 2:15 this a.m., a barred owl woke me up.

Great show!! Thank you, Preston, Dolly & Mike. My daughter-in-law was having multiple owl sightings a few years ago. I recommended Mike's book which she bought and read. It helped her answer her own questions regarding her Owl sightings. Have you seen those "Harpy Eagles"? They look like humans in Owl suits. 😅 As Mike said, "Owls are doors". Doors to knOWLedge I'd presume. 🦉🤔🦉

This was off the usual UFO discussion path. I never knew about Owls and the species’ connection to the UFO field and mystical experiences. What an eye opener. I have a friend that is interested in Owls just on a biological level but he’s also a UFO enthusiast (and he’s purchased one of your books as I speak about your podcast often when we speak). Thank you for this great episode. It really made me realize how ETs can communicate with us by showing up as animals. The following night after I watched the show, as I was preparing to sleep, a praying mantis insect appeared on my window. It was the first time in my life I saw a live one. It just stood there completely still looking out into the darkness, it felt like a gardian to me. Normally I have trouble sleeping but this time I slept so well and dreamed a triangle shaped UFO. Nice sinchronicity!

The animals conversation makes me think of my own experience with children. Even as a child myself, small children always are drawn to me. At the Paracon we just did there was 1 kid. She came right to me and wanted me to walk around with her. I bet that is related with the animals as well. Kids and animals know!
