NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg tells "Face the Nation" that although far-right Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán recently visited Moscow, "that doesn't change the common decisions" the alliance has made regarding Ukraine. "The reality is that we are able to make decisions on how we are going to step up our support to Ukraine because we all want peace" Stoltenberg said.

"Face the Nation" is America's premier Sunday morning public affairs program. The broadcast is one of the longest-running news programs in the history of television, having debuted Nov. 7, 1954, on CBS. Every Sunday, "Face the Nation" moderator and CBS News senior foreign affairs correspondent Margaret Brennan welcomes leaders, newsmakers, and experts to a lively round table discussion of current events and the latest news.

No, Viktor Orbán's doesn't represent NATO's position on Ukraine but he is teaching EU how diplomat works.

I believe it’s ok for Orban or any of the Slavic countries to communicate with Russia.

Of course, the whole existence of NATO depends on having an enemy. The US and others have been calling Russia 'the enemy' for decades. This guy would be out of a job without 'an enemy'. It's been perfectly obvious for years that Russia has no ambition of invading any NATO country - or any European country in fact. Since 1992 when the USSR broke up, Russia hasn't expanded its territory into any other country, Ukraine excepted. If NATO/US had not instigated the toppling of the democratic government of Ukraine in 2014, there would have been no war. That turned out well didn't it? US bases around the world: 1000. Russian bases around the world: 21. So who is the aggressor? Who is the invader? According to Wikipedia, the US has been involved in the following regime changes and attempted regime changes since just 2000: 2000, FR Yugoslavia, 2001–2021: Afghanistan. 2003–2021: Iraq. 2004: Haiti.2005: Kyrgyzstan.2006–2007: Palestine.2005–2009: Syria. Wikipedia doesn't list Ukraine, but US involvement is well documented in the lead up to the Maidan revolution.

Seeking a peace with supplying weapons and no diplomatic talks is a road to peace 😂😂😂

So he doesn't care about peace, because Hungary PM has brains and willingness to avoid war, he gets his courage and shows how to lead, by continuing talks. Meanwhile Stoltenberg just wants to continue by excusing himself with supporting Ukraine is everything and the only cure. That's pure bs.

Reminded me of Pinocchio. His nose grew with each and every subsequent lie.

The interviewer wants to ask questions about personality clashes - Mr. Stoltenberg wants to talk about policy. Come on " Face the Nation" get serious here - it is policy that matters.

If NATO is a military alliance, then why is it not also a diplomatic alliance, since war is the most extreme form of diplomacy?

Nothing to do with NATO where Mr Orban vivits, he is the only diplomat in that EU regime.

He's already told you his view on speaking about a "domestic" matter you wormy "pundit". This has become a style of questioning a "suspect" rather than a guest speaker. I hate these wormy pundits with shrinking ethics. Journalism is in decline.

Someone will finally appear who can hit the table and decide about what we play in Ukraine !

The head of NATO reminds me when Mr. Gorbachev was the head of USSR. When Yeltsin called for Russian independence from USSR, Gorbachev's postion was nul and void. Jones Stolenberg is irrelevant without the other state leaders.

In an utterly stunning development in eastern Europe, China has sent troops from its People's Liberation Army (PLA) to Belarus, to participate side-by-side with Belarus troops in an "exercise." - as NATO places 115, 000 troops on Belarus' Border.

You just said it's about who is stronger. So NATO with the US is always right.
