Amazing man. Great work as always! Super cute little one! I made a dining table myself, the question I had was does the finish seem to seal those cracks for you? Messy kids=crumbs in my table 😩

Another great video papa bear. LOVE the finish! Have you have any issue with shrinkage and cracking of the top with the breadboard rigidly screwed in like that?

You need to try the new Milwaukee 4 1/2” square. It’s the Bees Knees! It makes marking those lines down a board so nice. It has little notches to hold your marking point. Another Awesome video Nick.
P.S. Sorry to hear about the passing of your Dad.

HaHa! This is an awesome channel. You keep me laughing and learning the whole way through your videos. Don't stop doing what you're doing. I dig your sense of humor and ability to keep it real at the same time! Kudos to you and thanks for the heads up about the changing of lumber sizes as the boards get wider. I did not know that. :-)

Great desk, you should do a quick whiskey review.

That finish looks amazing, I've been needing a new desk. Just built my first pc and might as well try and build a desk. If my buddy let's me use his tools that is. Definitely got a sub from me, thanks for the content man. Looks amazing

If the small box was the exact same or a perfect square the 2x4 would be center to center. But because the top is shorter than the height it offsets.

The reason your angled support does not have equal cutoff sides is because the overall shape of the legs are a rectangle, not a sqare. Changing the lengh or height of your Legs will also change the angle of the support& therefore the cutoff.

Lol. Nothing worse than having the squirts on a Sunday... Usually happens after a good night of drinking.

Does the texture on the desk top bother you at all? I'd love to build this... It's beautiful. However, I think not having a smooth top would mess with me too much. Which means filling it with epoxy... and that'd change the whole dang look.

Cool desk! I like the asymetrical design of the legs! Normaly i'm a symetric guy, but i think it looks great!

If you want it pointy you could build the 'box' like you did, and then lay a 2x6 underneath and take a pencil and mark where the edge cuts will go, and then mark where you need to cut down on the outer trim to make it the "2x4" size. This might allow you to keep the same pointy edges. Basically you're just cutting out a template on a large piece of wood. I haven't tested it out but that's what I would try. It might look goofy though because your making a 45 degree shape out of something that's more like 60/30.

The 90 degree angle is there; it’s just the width of the 2x4 to the box you’ve got built.

I was curious if there was any way that I could get the plans for the legs, your design is almost exactly what I have been looking for

i can't tell you how many times a "standard" size 2x4 or 2x8 has fucked my day up. you draw it all up and cut it all down based on the idea of 2x4s that just don't exist.
