Frederick II - A Paragon of Religious Tolerance

Frederick II Hohenstaufen, Holy Roman Emperor, King of Sicily, Germany, Italy and eventually Jerusalem. This documentary follows the story of a modern sovereign in the late middle ages. In a period when the crusades had become a common occurrence, Friedrich II built a bridge between the Christian West and the Muslim East, so much so that he became known as the Antichrist.

Historian Donald Detwiler wrote:
"A man of extraordinary culture, energy, and ability – called by a contemporary chronicler stupor mundi (the wonder of the world), by Nietzsche the first European, and by many historians the first modern ruler – Frederick established in Sicily and southern Italy something very much like a modern, centrally governed kingdom with an efficient bureaucracy."

The background choir "Mass for five voices - VII. Agnus Dei" is copyright free.

I try to use copyright free images at all times. However if I have used any of your artwork or maps then please don't hesitate to contact me and I’ll be more than happy to give the appropriate credit.

Frederick II was very open minded for his time; friend of muslims and educated in many disciplines, he created a stunning castle full of mysteries...
Check on yt: " Frederick II liked a strange, mysterious geometry"

May I ask your sources? The whole video's speech feels eerily similar to a lecture made by a quite notorious Italian Historian...
