Range Technology makes one that plugs right into your OBD2 port and does the same thing....No need to tear apart your dash

Same situation for me I have a 2021 GMC Sierra with just 500 miles on it and I just HATE the auto start feature. Thanks epa and Obama for this stupid law passed in 2019. it’s on all makes & models of suvs and trucks sold in the United States and Canada. Not only is it an extremely annoying feature it’s bad on the engine because when your engine is off at a red light all the oil drops to the pan and everything has to restart and push all the fluids back up into the block. If you hit the gas too quickly not realizing the engine is starting again it shudders and there’s a momentary lag in power, not good. Does nothing for fuel economy but supposedly cuts emissions.

Just be careful removing and reinstalling the trim pieces. Take your time and spend 20 dollars on a trim removal kit. Also note this guy has a Silverado center fold down seat which is easier than the trucks with the integrated center counsel. If you have a truck like that (mine) you have a couple of extra side trim pieces and the cup holder to remove before the radio trim pieces in order to gain access to the auto start controls.

Modifying this auto start feature is the Best 100 dollars I’ve spent so far on this truck.
