Moving screen, sticks the elbow out. Easy foul. Don't blame the ref, blame the player setting the bad pick.

I am rooting for Iowa and thought this shouldn't have been called but on the replay sheesh you can't argue that is a clear foul

I think most of us are confused because Refs barely call these in the NBA.

I’ve never seen so many people this angry about one of the clearest fouls I’ve ever seen lmao

She was not a set statue, she leaned toward the player and stuck her knee out. Foul. Angel Reese still sore about the loss 😅

until "moving screen" is LEGALIZED... this is a FOUL angel

It looked more like an open field football block than a cleanly set basketball screen

I'm a diehard UConn fan that was clearly a offensive foul she's been doing that for 4 years and it finally burned her. The dumbest fouls she committees always in foul trouble, Thank God she's leaving.

Absolutely a foul, the timing of the call you could question. A foul is a foul. I wouldn’t have called it though.

Yeah dude, that was clearly an elbow. Foul all day. Good call ref!

I'm a totally impartial sports fan for this game. I'm not an Iowa nor UConn fan. I don't really care about women's' basketball. In fact, this was the first women's' b-ball I ever watched.
With that said: what's the controversy all about? It was clearly a moving screen, plus the screener stuck out her elbow AND blocked her shoulder into the defender. To me, it was not even a question and I was very surprised to see headlines this morning about a "controversial call".

For those who say "Let 'em play at that point in the game."... what if the shooter made a game-winning shot because she was wide open because of an illegal screen? How would have that been fair?

Great game, and I enjoyed watching it. It's too bad people are whining about the refs (the refs did not blow a 12 point lead).

I mean you hate to see it called in this situation. But there's an even better angle that you can see she really leans over, sticks her elbow out, and bumps her good to set the screen. But yeah, it's tough.

If people don’t want foul calls affecting games any more, let’s just remove referees from games. There have been a hundred college games this year where whistles have come in close games at final moments….not to mention every fan can spot missed/questionable calls throughout the game. It comes with the territory…sometimes, these go your way, sometimes they don’t.

No reese.. it was illegal asf. Considering you fouled out last game you were in, it doesn't surprise me that you don't know this.

she moved and stuck her left knee way out, definitely had to call it!

#3 leaned in with her shoulder and had her elbow stuck out there. Offensive foul 101.

ive been a referee for 2 decades, and I am confused as to how any of this is debatable and news worthy?
This is a foul when I started in 1997, when I did my first NCAA womens scrimmage in 2003, and will be toady as I do a CYO league 7th grade girls
