Atlanta rapper Young Thug, born Jeffery Williams, faces multiple charges under Georgia's RICO Act. Williams, believed to be the leader of the YSL collective, supposedly operated a "criminal street gang" from outside his residence. Williams faces eight charges in a 65-count indictment. These charges include drug possession, possession with intent to distribute, and participating in criminal gang activity as an individual employed by a criminal street gang. Opening statements will take place on November 27.

Whether YSL the gang exists or not it don't matter it's not illegal to be in a gang, what the state must prove here is that these guys did these petty crimes on behalf of the "gang" which is something they are failing to do. This case is definitely not a Rico they made a big deal out of nothing.

Absolutely outrageous that the state only gave defense counsel 24 hours notice to not only give access to question upcoming witnesses, but also to prepare for any cross examination. Planning, scheduling, and preparation is not their strong suit evidently. The remedy by the court should be exclusion for the said witnesses at a minimum for at least until time in which may facilitate preparation by the defense team. State is circumventing the right to a fair trial and due process for each defendant by not allowing their hired attorneys do their jobs properly. Guaranteed they’d be grieving to the court if the tables were turned and defense was doing this to them. This is just generating more substantive material for an appeal if these defendants are found guilty when everything is said and done.
