not a word about choosing the right gravel

I'm currently working on our short driveway here in Mi. A previous owner had poured concrete right on top of the existing sand / gravel with no real finish work so it was a busted up mess. I tore it all up and I'm putting down the same gravel you described here. It looks great and already the rain isn't forming mud puddles everywhere.

Hi, great video! Question...Can you come right over top of that with a 4" blacktop? The reason I ask...I'm building a house and the builder will give me a gravel driveway but I want to cover it. I'm hearing quotes of 10-20K for the job. I believe we'll have roughly 50' to the main road (finished concrete road). Thanks in advance. P.s Central Va build.

I am in Minneapolis. Thank you for the video. The contractor I’m thinking of working with says I don’t need a Geo textile or landscape fabric or anything underneath. He is going to remove 4 inches of soil and then do three-quarter inch red lime stone. Is he just being cheap or is it possible that my soil doesn’t need it?

What can be used as a substitute for that black lookin tarp thing?, I forgot the name you called it.
And no eders or edging? Or is that only for cement?

To finish the job correctly, gravel needs to be compacted with a roller, you'll be called back to site after the first downpour

I have a wooded property in very sandy central Florida. I'd like to partially clear it, compact it and drop in a bunch of #57 in the form of a driveway to a clearing patch in the middle. But not just compact enough to drive over, but also a base for an eventual foundation for small/lightweight metal frame single story offgrid house. Is this possible and are their specific requirements I need to meet in Florida?

What if the slope of the property goes from left to right? Do you have to build the driveway higher and then trench the high side out to the street?
