like all things Sayezz, today’s workout comes to you from my body to yours. specifically, my sacrum. being “out of routine” for the past few weeks left me out of my usual nourishing, mindful movement practices, which left my sacrum a bit unhappy when i picked up mon fils,Justin-Thilou the other day.

i’ve been bringing a lot of GyroT and GyroK inspired workouts to you lately, and it seems my body (and perhaps yours too?) is asking for a different kind of foundational grounding.

Pilates is my first love, and the main concept around its strength as a movement system is the principle of stability THEN mobility. the GyroT/K methods main principle is the exact opposite - finding stability THROUGH mobility.

i love how both movement methods help you to find your center by connecting you to your deep core via your pelvic-spinal pathway at the opposite ends of the bodymind spectrum! there is such BALANCE in practicing both.

so today, grab a balance disc, a rolled up towel, or a few throw pillows and prop them under your pelvis.

by coordinating your hips and shoulders and pumping deeply, mindfully and rhythmically with your breath, you will find the stability that your oh-so-mobile sacrum craves.
