I am Der Geher and I walk through the district of Eilbek. From the Wartenau subway station, the path leads briefly along Wandsbeker Chaussee and then right onto Papenstraße to the Friedenskirche. Around the Zombeckturm it goes through the Jacobipark to the Bulgarian Church. The end is again the Wandsbker Chaussee.

Eilbek was first mentioned in 1247 as Ylenbeke. The name recalls large quantities of leeches that were caught in the area for medicinal use. Thus, the village consisted of only a few farms and belonged to the Hospital zum Heiligen Geist. The village grew rapidly after the fire of 1842 and became a suburb in 1874. By 1900, Eilbeck, by then a city district, was already densely built-up. Today, about 22,000 inhabitants live here.
