Cast Away - FedEx Super Bowl Commercial (HQ AUDIO FIXED)

The 2000 Tom Hanks film "Cast Away," was parodied in this FedEx "Desert Island" Super Bowl commercial.

The ad's O. Henry-style twist ending, which highlighted the unnecessary survival items sent to the stranded FedEx employee, helped it become the second-most remembered and well-liked commercial of the game.

Bryan Buckley, the director of "Desert Island," also directed other impactful commercials, such as Pepsi Twist's "Osbournes" and the memorable but controversial marionette ads for DirecTV.

In 2009, after being a consistent advertiser in Super Bowls since 1989, FedEx withdrew from the event.

Just a satellite phone, GPS locator, water purifier pills and some seeds...you know silly stuff. Oh... that is just brutal.

Why a parody commercial in 2003 of a 2000 movie? A few years too late, no?
