Jane Powell and Debbie Reynolds head the cast of this underrated MGM musical gem, a true original whose book and score were written specifically for this film, and not adapted from a literary or stage source. A staid society lawyer (Edmund Purdom) and his singing sensation pal (Vic Damone) get corralled by a pair of sibling scions (Powell & Reynolds) from an extended family of fitness fanatics. Found amidst the crew of bodybuilders and gymnasts that make up the clan is a young Steve Reeves, who would soon star in a Herculean string of sword and sandal epics. The film boasts a gorgeous original score of songs written by Hugh Martin and Ralph Blane (Meet Me in St. Louis).

A Very Good Actor. Love his work in films!

I really adore Edmund Purdom, he is my favorite English actor during that decade, my favorite one of his is The Student Prince (1954), it may not seem that popular according to the critics but I like that film very much :)
