In this video, we go over the benefits and considerations of using ephemeral disks with Azure Windows Virtual Desktop Session Hosts. We review the performance improvements as well as limitations that come with ephemeral disks, including the inability to deallocate Session Hosts. Next, we examine Azure Reserved Instances and how they can be use to keep the cost of Session Hosts down without using an auto scale solution.

Great video, thanks!
Also, I'm using your function script which you mentioned and it's great! I've modified it slightly to fit my corporate needs so that when I spin up surplus deallocated VMs in the WVD host pools in order to patch them, patching has time to complete before the function script shuts them down again.

Ty Travis, really great how u manage to cover great details in such short time! just a few suggestions, not in your wvd course neither in the channel you went over wvd shortpath. There are many youtubers who described it, however really indenting to hear from you. Also, about fslogix rules - in your course you went over how to build them and possibility to automate it. My quick solution was with robocopy (source azure files target C:\Program Files\FSLogix\Apps\Rules) but i am really not proud of my solution as i think i overcomplete things... myabe DSC would be better? If you could cover that topic as well that would be great. TY it is great learning from u!

Travis, i thought i would share, WVD product group doesn't support Ephemeral Disks. However, in the lab it works perfectly :)
