actually tracing is fine, it's a great way for beginner artists to start to understand how some lines work together to create a picture, etc. on their own and get better. but like you said, never post it publicly, it's fine to trace it for educational purposes, but never claim it as your own or post it online.

Tracing is only good when starting out and using it as a guide, I have a lot of old traced art that I did but never posted or had any social media, and acknowledged that I admire the original art and that I rather not share my very old traditional art of me printing a picture and putting it over a blank page, especially with making early ocs, even as a improved artist I only use references as a guide and strive to make a drawing unique to fully make it my own style and art, if anything I am more proud of how far I’ve come in getting better at drawing,

As a kid seeing most people calling us brats is a bad thing to do we just can’t draw nicely when we first start so hating on others just makes them worse so it’s sometimes only the hater’s fault for making us lose talents :(
