What happens when you recreate a cooking mama recipe step-by-step in real life? Find out while I make the yōshoku dish, omurice, following Cooking Mama's instructions as closely as possible! It’s… not as easy as you’d think.

** Ingredients List: **
- 4 eggs
- about a cup of cooked rice
- 1/2 of an onion
- a cut of chicken
- 1 large mushroom
- 1 tbsp of ketchup + more for topping
- knob of butter
- a pinch of salt

The shape of your Omerice has more to do with underfilling than with Overfilling. Japanese ones are actually quite filled with the rice and Mama is deceiving in the cooking step. Love the show and you keep my eggspectation high.

It's common for Japanese people to eat omurice with a spoon. They do this with a lot of rice dishes including curry and rice. Rice is a lot easier to eat with a spoon than a fork or chop sticks

Traditionally, it is eaten with a spoon. The egg is usually mixed with cream to make it lighter, and less egg is used. Think of the egg to be more like an egg crepe instead of a traditional American omelette.
