Nice lecture. I am going to set this up on my work bench and do the calculations and check the wave forms. Also i will see the voltage values on the oscilloscope.

I have question please : i am confused as in such circuit everyine write :
Vs= Vr + Vc knowing that the capacitor "gradualy" raise its voltage and doesnt respond instantaneously with the voltage source !, why we are ignoring this fact and treating capacitor as if it is a resistor ?

If we connect this RC series circuit with full wave bridge rectifier output i.e. pulsating DC, shall we do same calculations as above?

SQRT(0.97^2 + 1.8^2) is not = 2. VR should be 1.75V

Is your voltage in the question statement rms?
