Stewart Alexander is a unique guest with a most extraordinary ability. He is a Physical Medium. If that already sounds like a bit too much for you, as it would have been for me only a year ago. I implore you to first watch my previous episode with Investigative Journalist and Author of Surviving Death, Leslie Kean. Amongst other things we discussed her research into this phenomenon, and her first-hand experiences with Stewart.

Stewart is a rare example of a Physical Medium who is widely viewed as genuine and credible, and has had no legitimate accusations of fraud to date. There are hundreds, maybe thousands, of accounts of people who have experienced breathtaking phenomena with Stewart, some of which we will discuss in this episode.

I've sat with Stewart on 3 occasions. Absolutely real. His Guide came through in direct voice, Walter Stinson, and told me I would hold the hand of a man who died 100 years ago. Long story short, a hand appeared in a fog and formed into a real hand, I gently held it, warm tactical and suddenly disappeared. This guy is beyond real. You never really believe until you see.

Great interview! Stewart comes across as a very sincere and genuine person. I have personally done lots of research on the subject and am aware that it is tinged with much debate and scepticism about whether mediums have this power and if the phenomena is real or not. Having never sat in a circle or had an experience with a medium either in a private sitting or in a more public environment I can't add anything of value myself in that regard. I have read Stewart's book and it's fascinating to follow his journey through mediumship and how he developed as a medium over the years. It's sad to still hear of mediums (some of high reputation) being caught cheating whether if they're conscious of it or not at the time as it only adds more fuel to the fire. Obviously the fact that most seances are carried out in darkness means that it's a conducive environment for any tom foolery to be able to take place so this is the sceptic's major source for arguments pertaining to fraud.
I have also listened to lots of recordings that were taken of the direct voice medium Leslie Flint (mentioned in the interview) and find these very perplexing. To give these recordings full critical analysis you have to be aware of the processes involved in which direct voice can take place in the first place. I studied these recordings very carefully and came to my own conclusion that the voices were not from Leslie Flint although sometimes they'd morph into his own voice at times which was attributed to variances in 'the power' and you have to remember the voice box was modelled on his own larynx. I've heard Leslie Flint talking over Mickey (his control on the other side) and also other communicators from the other side. Therefore the voices would have to be in my opinion third party operatives and some of the best actors if not Oscar nominated ones at that and they would have to keep things up over decades. Again I can't comment based on personal experience only on what I can deduce from the recordings. Although physical phenomena at seances can be very impressive and mind boggling Leslie Flint was not really that interested in it and in fact I think he was a little jittery about it and he was more interested in the messages and comfort the voices brought to the various sitters who received evidential information from their relatives and loved ones. Of course sceptics abound where Leslie Flint is concerned and he was either the greatest con artist that ever lived who devised a very ingenious plan to fool vulnerable people out of their hard earned cash or some kind of fantasist who endeavoured to reach the heights mingling with the rich and famous. The voices they say are comical and don't sound anything like how that person sounded on earth if the voices related to famous people. It's understandable that most haven't done the slightest bit of research into the subject of direct voice and those of us who have realise how naive their scoffing and inadequate assessments really are but they are the experts so don't argue.
It is sad that mediums feel that they have to bow to 'pressure' from the scientific community in order for them to try and prove their genuineness but historically speaking this seems to have always been the case. Fraud has probably dogged Spiritualism since the knockings and rappings of the Fox sisters which one of the Fox sisters eventually admitted were fraud but even after that it was found that initially the knockings were indeed genuine as a body was found to be buried under the house (the spirit who originally contacted them) but they decided to capitalise on it.
Nobody likes to feel they're being duped or deceived in some way so I think natural scepticism is a good thing and to look at things from a critical point of view. Yes there've been many frauds over the years but I also believe genuine mediums who have this rare gift and many have kept quiet not wanting any exposure at all or any rigorous scientific testing or examination because it's already sufficient for them just to know for themselves and utilise this precious gift having no interest in trying to prove it.

Oh wow! I'm a medium too, but not a physical medium...although I do trance mediumship sometimes. Anyway, one of my spirit guides is White Feather. Interestingly, when I go into trance, my hands often claw up totally unusable, like what Stewart mentions. This is a great interview, thank you. I would love to go to one of his seances.
