All reviewers assume everybody use Photoshop and Premier Pro, the reality is that most of the people use Microsoft Office apps and web browser to do their work which Surface Pro X is perfect capable to do and with a Great Battery life and LTE.... BTW the last Surface Pro with LTE option was the Surface Pro 5 and the LTE version was $200 extra, so if you are going to compare prices with the Surface Pro 7 you have to discount $200 to the Surface Pro X for a fair comparison.

I appreciate your review and enjoy your channel but I disagree you. I think the Surface Pro X is an excellent device. It does everything that I need it to do. I am aware of the limitations of the ARM processor but for many of things people use laptops for it works just fine. The edge canary browser is amazing and really fast. I do agree with you that the price is ridiculous and too high. If it was priced significantly cheaper, then it wouldn't have so many negative reviews. With that being said, it's priced very similar to the Ipad Pro 12 in. It amazes me how people trash this device but praises the Ipad pro when you will never come close to utilizing any of its processing power because of the limitations that Apple puts on it's tablets. You can do many of the same things on all Ipads because of the optimization of apps. The Ipad Air (current gen) and the Ipad pro 10.5 (prev. gen) offer a better value than the current gen Ipad Pro's. My recommendation for anybody that is on the fence about the Surface pro X is to purchase it (find it on sale) and try it for a week or so to see if it will work for you. It's worth it to try it. If you don't like it, simply return it.

p.s. I own 2 Ipad pros so I am not an Apple hater lol

Thank You!

Completely disagree with you that this SPX is some sort of v2 of the Surface Go. It's not on several fronts.

This was a review from 12/2019. I bought an SPX in 10/2021.

I got a HUGE reduction in price for a new SPX base model. For that price:

* Office 365 (work sub) works fine
* Linux Subsystem for coding
* Android Subsystem coming out for Win11 in '22
* SlimPen2 improves writing a lot
* Battery is good for work day and LTE connectivity is very useful

It's definitely a companion device to a more powerful machine. But the key is if you can get this for a big price reduction it's actually a brilliant set of features (see above including weight). Anyone viewing, look for a reduced price SPX and you will have a really good secondary device esp. for commuting with due to it's ultra-portable form factor.

It is a 2-in-1 btw, touch works fine. The Win10 on ARM works fine too but yes compatibility must be looked at first.

Purchased the SPX (SQ1, 8 ram, 128 ssd) for only $623US and love it.
Compared to my SP7 (i7, 16 ram, 256 ssd):
1. Battery life is outstanding. I get over 10 hours of continuous YouTube viewing at 40%
brightness / Battery saver off / BlueTooth off / Wifi on (SP7 gets 5-7 hours).
2. Screen is brighter (can watch videos/read in dark room w/screen brightness at 0%)
3. Display is bigger which helps greatly when annotating documents
4. Is thinner and easier to hold for notetaking
5. I can run all 35 million Windows applications using Windows 11 (updated info)
6. Price of the keyboard is about the same as SP7 on Amazon ($65)
7. SP7 pen works on the SPX

Downsides are:
1. No USB-A port (dongle life)
2. No Thunderbolt 3 (can't leave charger home)
3. No microSD slot

How about now? In 2022, is okay with working 2-3 excel and 1 word document simultaneously? With of course edge browser on?

I bought it. But I don't use it to this extent unless I am doing something pain staking long. I got it at very good deal $250 less than equivalent surface 7+ and $350 less than surface pro 8 equivalent.

MS got everyone excited in a long time but what a let done. My wallet was open but I got the SP7. Good review and is the opposite of the mostly positive review by Tabletpro.

The ting for me is that it will not run guitar pro and it has a problem with dropbox and google chrome. other than that it looks fine, but i would go with the pro7, would even spill for the Core i7-1065G7, 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD option even though i really don't need it.

Hello Sir! Can I expand storage capacity on this machine? If Yes, then how can I expand? Is this machine value 4 for money 4 watching Youtube, Netflix content, watching movies, browing, surfing, checking mails? If not kindly suggest me any other device which strictly for content consumption & less work. Thanks in advance.

Can a pro use this to handle heavy excel work? I live out of Excel.

I purchased this for 798.99 open box from Bestbuy. I loved it until I could not update the firmware on a gaming controller I own. iCloud also had issues. I did some research and came to the conclusion that it’s not worth waiting for Devs to support it for the price. I also own a SP5 and found myself still using it because of the USB type A. I don’t have, nor have I seen any type C connectors in the wild. I purchased the SP7 instead, but after owning the SP5 and experiencing the SPX I found myself feeling like I had made a redundant purchase. Some things were better than my SP5, but the design was the same and I wanted the SPX look. I took it back and purchased an iPad Pro 11inch. I said, I’m not going for this crap. Microsoft lost direction on this.

I kind of agree with you. I'm still having such a problem understanding why someone would just not by the surface pro for less money and 100% more versatility. Size and weight is basically the same. The only difference is maybe the thin bezel. I thought the entire reasonwhy do they will look into arm is so that we could have laptops that have like 20 hours of worth of battery. That would actually make some sense. But I just don't see the major improvement with this device. I use a Samsung S4that has unlimited data on T-Mobile and I bought it on sale for$350 on T-Mobile. Wrapping my head around spending literally five times more pair a device that's going to basically do the same thing is so confusing to me. Although I haven't fully understood the whole SIM card data thing to be used with it this device I am surebut if you cannot get unlimited data like you can on an Android tablet or Apple tablet it makes this device almost useless. Does anybody know if you can use a data chip from a company like T-Mobile or does this fall into the category of a laptop?

I don't think they really expected this to sell well. It's an Experiment. Test the waters for new design for the actual surface pro line.

I enjoy your concrete review and no BS approach to tech, but I think your channel would flourish if you did some different camera angles and some on-screen info. Keep up the good job!

I don’t understand why tech at the moment is so expensive. I have an iPad Pro so just need a standard no frills pc with big ssd to maintain a master file system as I access all in iPad Pro and Dropbox. I’m looking at over a 1000 pounds. Like for like I think it’s more expensive now than tech 5 years ago.

I love the honesty in these reviews, it makes me feel good about my decision of going with the new HP Spectre. The ability that this channel has to listen to it's audience, both through criticism and through recommendations/opinions is an added and much appreciated bonus. Although, as I was watching through the second half of the video, one of those criticisms I would have would be to leave political views out of these reviews. After all, politics nowadays are very polarizing.

Im 9 minutes in on this video, and so far I cannot agree more with your opinions. I bought one a couple weeks ago and returned it within 2 days... I loved the form factor,
I wanted to like it I really did

This is so spot on, especially the part about Apple.

I got one used with 16 gb of ram and a keyboard for a little over a thousand. I’m happy. Definitely not for everyone though
