UNBOXING | AMEX Delta Reserve Boeing 747 Card (2022)

American Express and Delta have teamed up to offer new limited edition credit cards made from 25% recycled metal from a retired Boeing 747-400 aircraft. In this video, we are going to do an American Express Delta Reserve Card Unboxing!

The first thing I do want to point out with this metal delta reserve card is that it is actually a lot lighter than what I expected. The second thing is that this card, if you look very closely, has a matte black pattern. It's very premium-looking still even though it's not as heavy, and it does feel like there's some metal in it as well. The silver portion is actually very shiny and very sleek and so this card really does live up to its hype, and I really like this design!

This AMEX Delta Reserve Card is a little flimsier than a typical metal card, and when I pull slightly on it, it can bend a little bit. It's not as sturdy as the other metal cards and so that kind of goes along with the weight that we just described.

Within the box itself, there was also a pamphlet that directed you to a very cool augmented reality experience using your smartphone. It says: Experience the legacy of the Delta Boeing 747 through augmented reality. Explore your Card’s wings-to-wallet journey through an augmented experience created exclusively for Card members with the Limited Edition Boeing 747 Delta SkyMiles Reserve Card Design.

I absolutely love the look of this card. I wish it was one that I could rationalize for my credit card strategy, but it just doesn't fit my lifestyle at the moment. Congrats again on getting the card and great unboxing video!

I’m in a similar boat as you. I already have the AMEX platinum, but I got the Delta Reserve 747 just for the design. I just need to utilize the companion pass with my wife each year to justify the cost lol.

I don't know that anytime in the near future this card would make sense, but if it did, is this card design still available somehow? I know it’s no longer publicly available, but any chance customer service could request this design for you? Just curious! I would never get a card for a design, but I would love this design if this card ever made sense!
