Honestly if you travel a bunch, like at least once a month Amex charge cards are totally worth it. The lounge access, and I've even heard stories from cardholders getting severely ill abroad and Amex gets a medivac back to the US arranged for them. No one compares when it comes to customer service.

They say they would give amex cards to anyone with a pulse. Which is fair. But I'll be totally honest. Admiring a platinum card with my name on it just makes me want to work harder and harder and to never give up. I came from a very poor background. It is just a monetary tool, but in never having food in my refrigerator as a child and my dad gambling away our families money so I never thought I would hold one with my name on it, and it feels good to want to do better for yourself and your loved ones. I've passed on my credit card knowledge to my younger brother, and he's very responsible with his credit. I'm very proud he developed excellent credit card habits. He is an additional card user on my LOC.

Edit: Thank you all for the likes. I'm currently working one job with 2 side hustles. I'm not intelligent by any stretch of the imagination, and I always thought that's what it took to make money. It took me too many years to learn to out work as many people as you can. Not to say in the office although it can apply there, but applying yourself to YOUR dream and YOUR happiness is something most people never chase. I want to live MY dream.

Can you add it to your Apple Wallet? I wouldn’t want to pull that card out in front of people. It makes you a target. If it’s on your phone when you pay, it’s easier to hide.

I like how in the end, most people will probably not bother anyways with pulling out this special black card but rather pull out their iPhones. Though obviously, the main purpose of the card isn't to just pay inside stores.
