You are loved. Take care of yourself. Take care of others. Remember to breathe. Get some rest. Dust yourself off. Keep hope alive.

Unbelievable that this song is still just as relevant, 8 years later.

To Ben and Ryan,
Thank you so much for everything you advocate for. EVERYTHING you write has truly been a tremendous help in my life. From simple songs of comic relief to heart wrenching songs that expose the harsh realities of the world, thank you.

Humanity is a privilege, we can't give in
When they build walls, we'll build bridges
This is resistance, we're resilient
When they spread hate, we shine brilliant
March by the millions 'til they hear the children
We found ourselves at a distance
Open up the jails and the overcrowded cells
When we oppress anyone, we oppress ourselves
Greatest gift I ever learned is helpin' someone else
You build, believe and build 'cause you forget about yourself

those lyric!!

why are people hating on this song? He's not attacking Trump, he's just saying that we have to move forward with this election and that we should make sure to keep fighting for our rights and the rights of others

This song meant so much to me the first time. I was only 15, not even able to vote yet, so frustrated and scared. Now I'm 23 and although I love this song, I am so sad that I have to listen to it again. I had so much hope in our country, I was so excited to have our first female president who cares about my rights as a woman, but instead we're back here again. Thank you for making this song Macklemore, its the one of the few things that has gotten me through my second awful Wednesday morning.

How am I just now hearing this!? All of this is still so relevant even two years later.. Favorite line: "When we opress anyone, we oppress ourselves." ❤ I wish more musicians spoke the raw truth like this.

"Love EVERYONE, regardless of the God they worship." I still believe the world could be this way. It's already starting. Times are changing, and the way I see it, so far, it's for the better.

Those complaining about the auto-tune, we know Macklemore doesn't need it and so this was most likely a creative choice for this song. It isn't bad and it adds an interesting dynamic. That being said, I do think a non-autotune version would be much nicer.
