Hi, I’m Krista! I make math courses to keep you from banging your head against the wall. ;)

Math class was always so frustrating for me. I’d go to a class, spend hours on homework, and three days later have an “Ah-ha!” moment about how the problems worked that could have slashed my homework time in half. I’d think, “WHY didn’t my teacher just tell me this in the first place?!”

Excellent video. It was great to see so many forms of manipulating the fractions to fit what was needed.

I stumbled upon this website. I had no idea such creative teaching was accessible on the web. Brava! Krista King. You will make many young students happy they saw your teaching skills. (I was a Prof for many years so can enjoyed seeing another one in action :-))

Because I'm not trying to demonstrate the shifting theorem in this video. I'm using this problem as a tool to demonstrate an inverse Laplace transform. :)

then instead of writing (3)^2, you'd just write (sqrt(13))^2, and you would multiply the numerator by (sqrt(13))/(sqrt(13)). it's a little messier, but it's the same principle, whether you get a perfect square or not. hope that helps! :D
