I think that it is more important for the Speed champions series to use complex assembly methods to achieve resemblance to the original. For gaming experience, there are other Lego series :)

Along with the McLaren twin pack, this is the one I’m most looking forward to! Love this! On the playability vs displayability debate, I feel this theme has long since moved passed being about playability. At 8 studs wide, they’re defo more about displaying vs playing. Therefore I’d far rather have accuracy and detail vs stability. When I build they just sit on my shelf.

That side profile comparison with the real car just shows how much they nailed the shapes. Not an easy thing to achieve at all!

i know a lot of people don't like this version, but i personally always like the lego speed champion sets because i understand the hard work of the design team in the 8 stud framework, they always change, from 6 stud to 8 stud, fix error of the driver sitting in the compartment, new frame, new glass ... changes positively every year. and i hope the design team keep to the 8 stud design, i really like it

Nice looking car it's got some serious lines. The model looks pretty good from Lego. Definitely a buy.

About the purpose of the Speed Champions - I feel like the playability on those shouldn't be that of a priority, but still those sets are good for their age rating to teach those building techniques. I would love the sets with those kind of ingenuity when I was a kid as a lot of sets back then felt like they were pretty obvious in their design. They had their specific looks, but apart from some base structural tricks, I don't remember being amazed by how stuff was put together, rather than the possibilities of the system itself.

I absolutely love the printed pieces, new pieces, and genius level of build techniques.

To be honest, I like the change in the Speed Champions theme, very close to reaching the accuracy of some smaller die-cast cars like you said. To be fair, when we are done building them, they are more than a display piece more than anything, so I think this is a better objective for this theme.

As a mid-20s guy who got back into Lego through/because of Speed Champions, i'm all focused on the display looks and keeping the design as close to the source material as possible. I'm fine if there is some loss of play-ability, as long as they aren't "breath on it wrong and it falls apart" fragile.

Безусловно лучшая модель 2023. С каждым годом линейка всё краше и краше))

In answer to your question: The model should be stable enough for play, as is the case with every LEGO model.
I have no issue with the rear of the car. Speed Champions had loose roof panels, front bonnets on hinges, and all kinds of other pieces that could move out of alignment. This one returns to alignment by gravity alone. That's perfectly fine by me.

Great review to go with another winner by the SC team: quick builds that, just like my wife, provide all the action I need in a hot minute.

Another fantastic video … with regards to your question, the Speed Champions have become (much too my pleasure) collectors/display pieces.
The Team at Lego with every launch are pushing the boundaries of creativity and realism over playability.
There is no doubt that this entire line is marketed to an adult audience who have the disposable income and dreams of owning these vehicles

I personally only buy a Speed Champions cars with brick built front and rear lights and exhausts. I really like the cars like Audi Quattro, Skyline, Countach, Charger and others which has full brick built lights and exhausts - there are some errors of course and not everything is perfect but it gets them more sense of reality. I have a huge respect for these new cars they built like Ferrari and this Pagani, but I see a missed opportunity in the Pagani for example with a rear exhaust, which gives it its character. Really looking forward to the Porsche and McLaren, but frankly I am interested in the F1 only...

Here's a simple solution to that wobbly tail assembly. On step 15, omit the 2x1 rounded plate-with-holes. Just plug the clips into the 2x1 'porthole' brick, about halfway. This will give you enough depth to seat the tail assembly snugly. It also helps to make sure the taillights are pushed forward on their hinges, up against the body.

I can see why Lego didn't advise this as it probably goes against spec to leave a piece half-inserted. But you'll enjoy the stability of the end result.

I think that cool details, and accuracy, are the whole point of the theme. Also, there are already a lot of tough cars out there from Marvel and City themes.

Great review! Also, I think that windshield would fited well in the Koegnisegg Jesko, that round shape would helped to look like the real car shape, maybe for a future Koegnisegg if they do it
