Gas Bag Vehicles: When Cars Carried Their Own Cloud of Fuel!

During World War I and II, drivers strapped massive gas bags to the roofs of their cars, buses, and trucks just to stay on the road! 🚗💨 These 'gas bag vehicles' ran on town gas, requiring nearly 800 gallons of gas to replace just one gallon of gasoline. The result? Hilariously bulky vehicles that couldn’t even fit under most bridges! While far from efficient, these quirky rigs kept people moving when gasoline was hard to find. Ever seen one of these on the road? 🤯

👍 Our drivers run only new and well-maintained trucks. We have 2024 Peterbilts 579 in the dry van division and 567s haul loads for our flatbed division (available with auto and manual transmissions).
We have only fresh trucks with APU, inverter, and mini-fridge.
❗ We offer steady loads, many miles, high CPM, bonuses, and benefits.

I've never seen nor heard of this before, and I consider myself to be pretty knowledgeable in 20th century history and in vehicles. 😳🤔

Town Gas is Coal gas, man made natural gasses if you will it. Not liquid crude. "Gas" in 2024 refers to petroleum.
