I lost my phone but have been able to retrieve my data to another phone including the Google account.

This only applies when the phone's gps and internet is on. If the phone was stolen and the sim was removed . Then we cannot track it.

I recently got my phone stolen, we know for sure it was stolen. We checked on find my phone amd shows in same spot. We were told that the phone was turned off. I have it fingerprint locked, but what if they took the sim card out and the phone is on with no wifi connected. I did have wifi on but would find my phone update or can I erase the info if they wifi is not connected or sim card out?

A question brother. Just lost my phone. 8 hours ago now. Evening last day. Filed a police complaint. I am pretty sure it's stolen, got Outta the house with it. Within 10 minutes I figure out it's gone, I call my number it's switched off so that's evidence it's stolen.



Now the question.



6 hours after losing it I opened up find my device with Google and tapped the secure and erase option multiple times. Every time it told me that a notification will be sent to my phone.



Does that mean that once the thief opens my device, switches it on, he won't be able to access my device and it will be locked the second it opens up? Or does he get a yes/no option and he can just choose to not lock the device and access everything?


Assuming he didn't try to switch it on before I tapped the secure and erase option? Thanks 🙏🙏🙏
