The irl dazai was a fan of irl Akutagawa and Akutagawa committed suicide that's why Dazai also commited suicide and the irl Ranpo was a fan of Edgar Allan Poe.That’s why i like BSD so much

I had to read crime and punishment for my school and when I saw Fyodor and the references to it in BSD I was so excited. Also I'm majoring in literature so there's that lol

Fun fact- dazai is an japanese writer who wrote the book no longer human which describes his life and how he wanted to commit suicide and dazai's book is the character's ability 🤫

One thing I love abt bsd is that most of the characters are based on real life people. It’s really cool to see world-renown individuals personified in a story

i found that book in a public library along with others written by fyodor, nikolai, and dazai. Fyodors was umm complexed and kinda hard to understand and i didnt have enough time to finish it and now im out of the country 😅 nikolai's was kinda funny- and dazai's is just "im a monster" or "i hate myself" or "suicide" 💀

I remember reading Crime and Punishment in a book club. We did a bit of research into Dostoyevsky while doing it and I thought his story was crazy. Then I got into Bungou Stray Dogs and I kid you not, I was blown away.
