Oven Canning Flour

Oven Canning Flour.. free's up my freezer real estate :-)
Before I even start.. I wash up the jars i'll be using. Checking them for flaws or small cracks. ( always inspect your jars) Once washed and somewhat air dried.. I put into oven on a cookie sheet with a hand towel under them. I then put oven onto 225 F and let oven come to temp ,Let jars sterilize 15 mins. I then remove fully dried jars and let them cool.. i turn oven down to 200 and wait for temp to adjust. ( I allow jars to cool or i just burn myself. easier to fill cool jars) Fill dry jars with flour, tapping down to ensure flour has no air pockets. Fill to 1/2 inch of headspace. Leave in oven 1 to 1.5 hours. remove.. and WORKING QUICK.. WIPE RIM OF JAR TO ENSURE NO FLOUR IS ON IT TO STOP YOUR SEAL. Slap that lid on with ring. UNLIKE REG CANNING? THESE LIDS YOU TIGHTEN as tight as possible. Set aside onto a towel to seal and cool. Repeat jar by jar until all are removed from oven.
Label and store :-) Keep in mind.. once opened? you will be sifting lol. Don't say i didn't warn you lol. Big deal.. look at the flour we can put up and keep for years to come :-) long term food storage. rebel canning.. that works.
