The Way Forward: Interventions to Promote Motor Skill Learning

This session will showcase recent advances in developing interventions to promote motor skill learning for children and adults with neurological conditions. Mr. Ferre will present his doctoral work on the efficacy of intensive, home-based bimanual interventions for children with hemiplegic cerebral palsy. Dr. Andrew Gordon will discuss his exciting research on the effects of intensive practice on improving upper extremity function in children with cerebral palsy. Dr. James Gordon will share his insights into future directions in the field, and will lead an interactive discussion on the advances in motor learning research and implications for clinical practice.
