It would be ridiculous for the courts to say that asking for the peoples opinion in a non legally binding vote is illegal. So much for living in a democracy or being in a union (both of which requires the ability to leave if the people wish to do so).

As an English person who never wanted Brexit, I have some sympathy for the Scottish independence cause. Why? Because back in 2014, they were told the ONLY way to stay inside the EU was by voting to remain in the UK. They did and then us English pulled them out with the 2016 vote. No getting around it, but Brexit moved the goalposts suddenly and massively!
