This is the kinda nerdy car guy stuff that most people just don't get, but my friends and I get RIDICULOUSLY excited for

I can never tell if Mike is slightly baked, or just high on life because he really loves his job.

I've seen various versions of this over the years, but none of them were all that close to plug-and-play levels of adaptability, and adding anything required consult with a code specialist. Being largely DIY-esque, cost was kind of an unknown as whoever did the coding was usually twice what the sensor went for on the real cheap end.
Man, this is crazy cool to have as an almost off-the-shelf option for guys at the grassroots level!

If you use the valve stem caps as the sensors, make sure to upgrade your valve stems to metal ones. I put these on my sportbike and the extra weight and quick spin up of my rear tire, caused the valve stem to bend and then fail. I was going around a long sweeping turn so I gunned it, we don't have many curved roads in Oklahoma, and I was leaned over when suddenly, my rear tire loses pressure and the rear slid out, but my Kawasaki KTRC kicked in and saved my butt. I thought I ran something over, but nope.

For an armature endurance racing team this would be awesome! Accurate live telemetry! For what it is it is extremely affordable.

How durable are these sensors? I mean, they are mounted in the wheel well after all. They can be damaged by small rocks, debris or what have you. Pretty expensive to replace because of a half-inch stone. I'd be curious to find out how they are constructed or what they have for protection.

This might sounds silly but Is there a way to mount the sensor to get a suspension reading without mounting it on top of the tire?

I imagine that it knows where it is on the track because it knows where it isn't... ;)

Mike, I have a question not related to the video, but know you have love for the Nissan community. My transmission in my 96 G20 broke a snap ring on the input shaft. Looks like that bearing is damaged too and some scoring to the case where the snap ring broke up is the result. Is there a local transmission guy who k owns these 32a transmissions and can get that snap ring for it? I can find the bearing all day long but that snap ring and it’s size (mine is in 4 pieces and deformed) I haven’t been able to find. I am in southern Riverside county.

F1 tech for unmaintained public roads? I guess we all have a need to be fulfilled 😅
