At 1m 32s He states that triangle AEC is congruent with triangle DEB. He made a slip of the tongue, they are similar triangles not congruent. I think he had 'congruent' on the brain after all the congruent angles he listed.

The two triangles are SIMILAR. NOT CONGRUENT
If they were congruent you would have a equality of line segments and not equality of product of line segments !
