Not completely true. Garuda was shocked when he found Rama tied in NagaPasha and he rescued him from that. He could not believe that if Rama is Vishnu Avatar then why is he tied and in unconscious state and needed the help of bird to get rescued..He kept looking for answer and Mahadev asked him to visit Kak Buhunsdi who used to preach Ramayan and teaching near Mansarovar.

Secondly Kak Buhunsdi was cursed that he will never die and in Uttar Kand he mentions that he has seen the cycle of Yugas many times. He was born in Kalyuga in Varanasi and after getting cursed he has lived many Yugas and he explains in detail how every Yuga is . There is a very nice mention in Uttar Kand where whenever Rama takes birth in Ayodhya he goes to meet and play with him .Rama sees the crow and lures him to come near by showing Pua ( a sweet made of jaggery and wheat) and tries to catch him ..
