I Made The Most Infamous Chicago Mobster’s Favorite Dinner

Al Capone aka “Scarface”, America’s most notorious original Mobster, was known for terrorizing his rivals, slinging illegal (at the time) hooch and enjoying the finer things in life. As an Italian-American, Al leaned heavily into his roots when eating and cooking. That’s right, supposedly the man got down in the kitchen, so let’s make Al Capone’s favorite meals.

Capone often ate at my great aunt's Italian restaurant on the ground floor of one of his buildings. His office and some working girls were on the upper floors. Capone also had my great uncle (Diamond Joe Esposito) killed.

I was at Capone's house in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. He hired a carpenter to build it that built boats and it's got a real craftsmanship nautical vibe to it. Curved staircase railings, it's really beautiful. That area of Sawyer County was completely logged out in the 20's where the cabins property is. No trees back then so Capone had a tall observation tower built so his men could watch for people coming in from a distance. Today the tower is surrounded by tall Pine trees. But yes I think that slow cooked roast would've been just the thing on those cold winter days!

I would eat them both on the same plate as the animal I am!! Great vid. Beautiful food!! Can't afford to make the Capone Roast but definitely trying your Walnut Spaghetti recipe. I have had walnuts in pasta before and it is excellent!

Made the Spaghetti - added onions, and it was wonderful. Very tasty with the walnut sauce for a change of pace ~ Thank you for the video! My Very Best ~ Joe

Same plate together for _sure._ They would go together pretty well! Walnut and pork is already tasty. Pasta goes with any protein... I see no way this could fail, tbh.

Adam, you should open your own restaurant and call it Cruspy.

Man! My mouth was ACTUALLY WATERING, watching this! I know, it's something we say a lot, "mouth watering", but it rarely happens to me in real life, just off a video. At least to this extent, to where it's HIGHLY noticeable to myself. Man, that CRONCH!! Immediately saved to the, "to cook", playlist on my account.

I want to crush both of those dishes! Great work Adam! Love your Chicago content as a fellow Chi Boy! Did you know that he had a secret hideaway restaurant in St Charles IL, on the Fox River that was a speakeasy and restaurant that closed in 2008? I used to eat there all the time it was awesome! Also he is buried at Queen of Heaven Cemetery and many people visit his grave and leave stuff!

Just imagine those walnuts were someone's kneecap.

That modified porcheta sliced thin would make a mean sandwich. Put it on a sour dough roll, added some arugula and sauce of choice. Eat it all day.

I presume many North Italians are gasping and rolling their eyes at the garlic and chillis in his rough peasant pasta dish - I bet it's bloody tasty though. Any version of Porchetta is essentially just one step from heaven - Big Al's/your's just a demi-step.
