Sorry Ian, the rest of the world recognized I Believe In Father Christmas as a great classic from the first few notes.

It isn't realy a Christmas song, nor is it anti-religious. It is against the crass commercialisation of the winter festival, which has grown much more cynical and ruthless since 1975.
Most of us love "fairy stories". We just resent having the same ones relentlessly forced upon us from an early age. As we grow older, we like to think for ourselves and question things, including ancient books.

I guess a lot of you folks in England have it in for Jesus Christ, our Savior, and the Son of God. Why do I say this? Because Greg Lake's "Christmas" song is nothing but a mockery of the virgin birth and Jesus Christ in general. Calling the birth of Jesus Christ a "fairy story" as in "They told me a fairy story, till I believed in the Israelite". And then Greg and Peter Sinfield during interviews have the nerve to say that this isn't meant to be an "anti-relious song", when it screams this very thing from the rooftops in that one line! And then there's Jethro Tull's making a mockery of God, Jesus Christ and Christmas, in at least 2 different tunes. "My God", "Hymn 43" . I stopped listening to Tull after the blasphemous "Aqualung" album because of this.
