The Best PlayStation Console // PS1, PS2, PS3, or PS4

Recently I conducted a poll on my channel to celebrate the 25th anniversary of PlayStation. I asked my subscribers to vote on their favorite PlayStation console and to also leave a comment explaining their choice. It was between the PS1 (PlayStation 1), PS2 (PlayStation 2), PS3 (PlayStation 3), and PS4 (PlayStation 4). Let's go over the results and some of the comments.

There's not a best one, each one of them stick into my heart in equal measure, with different games and reasons

I'd say PS2 because of the games that originated on it. Ratchet & Clank, Final Fantasy X, SOCOM, Soul Reaver 2, Tomb Raider Anniversary (remake), Metal Gear Solid 3, Resident Evil 4 (more content than GB), GTA games, Silent Hill 2-4.

PS2 still stands as my personal most favorite PlayStation of all time followed by PS4.

Originally I went with ps3 but after i got psvr. I changed my mind with ps4. The ps4 exclusives plus the psvr experiences is just to great.

It’s not about having a young audience. I’m in my late 30s, I’ve owned all of Sony’s consoles and I voted for the PS4. I have to say it was the PS3 that reignited my love for gaming with titles like the last of us, but it was the PS4 that pick up the baton and ran faster than anything I’ve known. This generation has just smashed it out of the park with some of its exclusives. Let’s see if the PS5 can do the same.

Bloodborne alone already make PS4 my favorite console.
And then there are Persona 5, Spider-man, God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn not to mention the last batch of great games like FF7 remake, TLOU part 2 still to come.

41, i actually remember playing PONG as a young, young child. I think my old siblings borrowed it from their friend, maybe we owned it IDK, but that was the first home gaming console. Then we had the Intellivision, then Atari 5200, then the 7800. I still have them all too. last i knew they still worked. i also did PC gaming on my dad's 8086 IMB Clone with cheesy BASIC games like Leygriffs Castle, some text based ASCII graphics DnD game, then games like Zork, Red Baron, Kings/Police/Space Quest series (& LS Larry lol). seeing how far gaming has come is mind blowing. Actually playing and seeing PONG to games like Uncharted 4, RDR2, and also VR and the upcoming psychics based VR titles like BONEWORKS, I never thought gaming would come so far.

PS3 is the best console ever, it had something that the PS4, PS2 and PS1 did not have. The PS3 was first console with wireless controllers, you could save music, videos, pics. The PS3 had a very good online community, The PS3 had so many great games Uncharted, COD, Medal of honour, Blur, Killzone, Little Big Planet, and many other games.
I've had a PS3 for a decade now and I still enjoy it like I got it yesterday. PS3 still holds up today, trust me when you need to back your pics, music, video's PS3 is very helpful.
PS3 is a console that feels like a PC and that why for me PS3 is the best console even today.

The leap from PS1 to PS2 was absolutely unreal. I didn't own a PS2 until around 2010, but I remember seeing Tekken 5 at a store and playing Soul Calibur 2 at a friend's and I wasn't expecting such a massive jump from the PS1, it was shocking. However, PS3 and 360 remain the most impressive and revolutionary to me, when video games started to really blur the line with movies, with HD and lifelike characters. Games like Uncharted 2, The Last of Us and Halo Reach had such an impact on how I perceived video games, they started becoming more personal, I felt very immersed in those experiences. It was also a crucial era for online multiplayer. The 7th gen is when the gaming industry changed forever and is to me the most memorable one. The following generations after ps3/360 have refined all those foundations laid by the 7th gen consoles.

PS1 because FF7, Xenogears, Tekken3, and Toshinden3, and Legend of Mana. Though PS2 made the biggest jump, many would say it's an era of revolution

I honestly love all 4 consoles and still own all of them. But my favorite is the one I have more nostalgia over it and that would be the mighty, and only, PS1! Back in 1997 it blew my 11 year old mind away being able to play so many of my favorite arcade fighting games in the confort of my home, and also coming from a Mega-drive owner, I was super impressed with the 3D graphics and CD technology.
