We're traveling around Korea for a TV show and trying different kinds of kimchi. We're making videos of our adventures as well. Here's our first stop, where we try Albaegi Mul Kimchi. Bam!

Thanks to B1A4 Chile for the Spanish subs! Woot!

@xHEART219 Kimchi is one name used to represent a whole bunch of different side dishes. If you say just kimchi, it usually means the original spicy pepper + cabbage kind, but it can also represent so many different kinds. Every single meal in Korea is served with side dishes of various kimchi.

@feli1097 Oh there are WAYYY more variations then just cabbage! And I just discovered that different parts of Korea will make kimchi from unique plants that only grow in their reigns. So cool!

@TriannaMaxwell I think it's because of the salt more than the spice, because I made a small batch of kimchi once and it was the salt that burnt my hands, like WHOA. But then again, if you itch your eye with hot pepper

@xHEART219 We live in Bucheon which is a suburb of Seoul, but we jump on the intercity buses (30 minutes) and visit Seoul often. Koreans will tell you kimchi is SUPER HEALTHY but if you're not use to spicy, it can be hard on your stomach, as in stomach ulcer and heartburn. :O

@madelynlovedonghae This was nothing like the mul kimchi I normally eat. Actually, Simon doesn't like normal mul kimchi, this was more like Spanish Gazpacho.

@Decreeta BUT! It may not be good kimchi! Every single kimchi has a different flavour depending on how it was made and how long it was left to ferment, so if it's disgusting, don't let it ruin you from all kimchi! Oh, if it's really sour, look up "kimchi jeon" online and make an awesome savoury Korean pancake! ^^

@xHEART219 no meat... it's basically fermented vegetable with spices. Before the red peppers were imported to Korea they were white, and afterwards they became red. There are more than 100 types of Kimchi depending on the vegetables grown in different areas of Korea. Most Korean families make it with Nappa cabbage, long radishes and short ones, and cucumbers at their homes.

@TriannaMaxwell Plus since you have to handle it I think it's hygienic plus the red pepper sauce might stain your fingers and get into any cuts.

@abbiiON Ah yes, the chef is a real chef, but he is there to taste the food and give his opinion, while the guest chefs make us their unique kimchi. He's actually really funny! :D

@tayo3o they probably do.. some kimchi like dongchimi are stored and can be fermented but I think this was for a quick "lunch" for the summer days

I'm watching this in 2016 and I can say that Secret Garden is my FAVORITE Kdrama.  It's so good.  SO GOOD.  Now I want to watch it again.

Neither have I, but in the ramen section of my local grocery store, we have these kimchi flavoured ramen. IDK if that's what kimchi actually tastes like, but they are really good. I recommend you search for them~!
