Never would have thought about using pipe clamps to make what is essentially a quick release twin-screw vice. Awesome 👏

Jay, thanks so much for your truly great videos. As someone who has watched many YouTube instructional videos I very much appreciate your descriptions, extremely careful editing, the use of stop motion, graphics projections and, especially the "twin Jays." One of my favorite ones is where you slowed down the action to drink coffee to watch paint dry! A beautiful change of pace and very humorous. You have elevated YouTube to a very high level.

1:55 - I knew I heard you talking to yourself out there - thanks again for the vise!

Built one of these just today. Turned out well and super easy and quick. Err... sorta. My fault for not making sure the pipes didn’t interfere with my dog holes. Yup. Good times. Thanks Jay!

Hey Jay, I just wanted to say thanks for all the time you put in educating others. I got into word working about a month or two ago and thanks to you I'm already making pieces I can sell for hundreds of dollars. Thanks man, keep up the great work!

I like an assistant that does not talk, only listens and acts according to instructions.

I really need to make one of these for an interim vise. Quick and easy, love it.

I love how you can swing the front jaw up and out of the way. Nice.

What a contrast! This morning, I started off watching Rob Cosman's video on "The best woodworking vice" featuring a beautifully made, but $300 piece of woodworking Anyway, I've got a great deal of respect for Rob and what he does, but I don't do this for a profession and at 58, I probably never will. So, I really can't justify spending about $300 on a vice, as nice as it may be. Fast forward a few minutes and here I am watching your video and it is a great, economical bang for the buck. There's something for everyone in this maker community and I appreciate both ends of the spectrum. Thanks for taking the time to put this together. Looks like I'm going shopping for some Cal-hawk bessey style pipe clamps.

I just listened to the woodworking podcast where you guys traveled to Wisconsin. You 3 really feed off each other and are entertaining to listen to. Thanks for all of the great content.

I have seen your other ones, and the flip up/down is especially useful! Thanks for the tip at the end for the clamp type. For the viewers that are concerned about the clamp ends sticking out when not in use (possible big ouch but all the vices have similar), perhaps a temporary rectangular box that slots onto the bars and covers the exposed clamp ends, preventing bodily ouch syndrome.

I just saw this video and wish I had known about it when I built my first workbench. I'm building another workbench here in a few months and it WILL be incorporated into that build! GREAT and INEXPENSIVE IDEA! THANK YOU!

Thank you for this. I made a version that can just clamp onto the end of a bench. Your suggestions and detailed video were very helpful. I’m amazed at how much clamping power it has.

This is something I'm going to need to add to my project lists as I build my new home shop. Simple inexpensive and functional the perfect trio.

I am making this tomorrow. I got two 3/4 pipe clamps on sale at Canadian Tire. It only has the quick release on the one side but I believe the handle is fixed.

A simple, great and inexpensive vise -- and a flash of AJN Woodworking Goodness! :) It's always great to see April, Jay, and Nick together in the shop. I'll be sad when the videos have all been released. Jay and Nick are going to have to make the trip to April's shop soon! Real soon! :)
