I think it's very fair. I wouldnt expect my 10 year old car to get a free upgrade every year. Maybe consider introducing a progressing model number to help establish notable differences.

Great improvements but I have no need for the upgrades. I'm not going to extend the vise out super far where the screws have a decent amount of friction, so it's really a no issue on that front. And since I already built it and have created the taper, the washer is unnecessary. The electroplated gears do look great, but mine were pretty clean to begin with, so I'm happy with mine. The lighter color of the new gears might actually contrast with my chops a little too much, so all-in-all, I'm happy with what I have and still love it.

Any chance you’d sell a blemished set? I have other tools that I should be buying first (and im a little cheap), but it would be hard to pass up a blem 24” vice if there was a nice discount to it.

So excited to get the vice! I have been eyeballing them since I saw them on kick starter and after your video last night I decided to just pull the trigger and buy it. Thanks for all your hard work!

Andy, Keep up the amazing work and if anyone hasnt said it yet, I will, Thank You!! The vice is amazing and like any new product there is always a way to improve upon it. Your hard work shows off and life struggles are real when it comes to getting parts right now. I feel that pain myself. Keep on keeping on!!

This thing is going to be fantastic! Now I need to upgrade my workbench to meet the quality of this vise.

The first project like this I ever attempted I began about this time of year in 2003, except I was developing castings (three different models). I only had 3D printed examples to show at a trade show in January 2004, and it wasn't until September 2004 I was able to ship my first machined castings. That sure took longer than I expected. BTW, I'm still in business, and I still make castings; as well as machined, extruded, stamped, laser-cut and injection-molded parts, and custom hardware as necessary. We're just finishing an unexpectedly great month.

What was Lincoln's reaction to bringing all the vise hardware into the house?

I just purchased the 24 inch vise and the upgrade that you mention in this video is not included. I am talking about the support that goes under the vise screws that transfers the support from the wood vise jaw to the recessed supports. Is this still an upgrade and mine are just missing or is this no longer a thing? Thanks

Hello, could you upload the diagram of the gears so I can put them in wood or steel

6:00 Overlap the holes, so they will come out already "notched". Plus, less wasted material. Win-Win!
If the diameters are not the same, refine the "notch" diameter after the fact. Still, less material to grind away.

Nice video. Always interesting to see the "production run" and packaging process. It is amazing you are making any money since it seems so time consuming. Mahalo for sharing! : )

I sure appreciate your concern about upgrades but that is a fact of life. Happens with every tool.

Any idea on when upgrades will be available?

Thanks Andy. I am in the process of building the 20" vise, getting ready to drill out the recesses for those supports that go just under the screw pipes on the back sides (one of your improvements).
Should I drill them out to make the support rings' surface flush with the wood surface, or make the supports protrude a little bit above the wood surface?

Hey Andy, the 2 trenches you’ve drilled out at 6:52 are for the dogs?
