I saw pictures of Joaquin and he was just as as beautiful as his mother and his sister. Seeing the pain in their eyes, especially the mother's, sends shockwaves through me. I wish from the absolute rock bottom of my heart that they are able to find peace again and I know that is what their son and brother would want. ❤️

I am SICK and tired to the BONE of PERPETRATORS being deemed as a victim!!
He CHOSE hatred, and the jury showed compassion to the MURDERER and not to the real victims.

May God give you peace ❤

I thought he would get the death penalty too. I was shocked. 1 member of the jury voted against death

I am STUNNED that he didn’t get the death penalty. I feel so bad for the victims and their loved ones who were completely let down by the justice system. The defense team used guilt trips to get what they wanted: life in prison for as these women correctly say “this piece of garbage”

What a strong group of women. Joaquin would be proud. I do believe in karma and trust that the shooter will get exactly what he deserves....one day. Maybe not today, but soon. My prayers are with all of the families and victims.

The sadness in the mom's eyes is killing me.

Our justice system is broken. Only the criminals have rights. Shame on the jury.

The prosecution team was incredible. The jury delivered a disgustingly embarrassing travesty of a verdict.

Poor mom😞 every single family member deserves justice. This shouldn’t be happening!!

Absolutely outrageous there was one holdout juror that would not agree to the death penalty. That person should feel great guilt for not providing justice. The monster knew what he was doing was wrong. End of story.

Both women were amazing- but I cried at the moms testimony. She is trying to move forward, to find happiness again, but every single day she spends without Joaquin is another day Cruz continues to hurt her.

While he sits in a cell with an iPad drawing guns and wishing he could commit another mass shooting- she still suffers every, single, day. He can move on now, they can’t 😔

Prayers and condolences. An outrageous injustice.

She's right. The Death Penalty was the only appropriate sentence in this case. 14 kids were murdered, 3 Staff members.

If it was their own family, it would've been different. Life is so cruel. Hugs to you from South Africa 🇿🇦.
