Props to the UK ambassador. He went off script to address the lies that preceded him. What is more distressing about what Lavrov said is that many of the exchanges he cited were recorded and are available for viewing. Lavrov lied. Bluntly, and without any effort, he misrepresented or fabricated conversations. He did this with impunity because he knows very few in Russia have the necessary information access to fact check him.

The funniest part is that, literally, every accusation leveled by Lavrov, Russia is openly guilty of the same in an effort to suppress and oppress it's citizens rights.

There is loud chatter about revising the Security Council and booting Russia. The West has the lion's share on the current council. The council is way overdue for revision but it should be put to a unanimous vote by all U.N charter members, who the permanent members of the UNSC should be.

The UN is a complete waste of time. It needs to be drastically reformed with more teeth. Otherwise it’s pointless and we are back to “might overcomes right” system.
