Man, whatever happened to just chasing a tire? It seems as if I need to have a degree in engineering in order to change a tire these days! Look, I get it, things are not the same anymore, but I just long for the days of change and go! I do appreciate this video...it's super helpful. This is important to know because one might think that the guys over at "Tires Plus" would consider tire off set this since they are a huge tire chain, but they don't!

Been putting off learning this forever and now have a DyMag CF Rear Motorcycle Rim I'm trying to sell... no askers of offset but NOW I'll be ready when one DOES ask. Good Stuff! BTW, do I convert from inches to mil... JUST KIDDING. Hate to see/hear myself recorded... have learned when dictating texts that I don't speak NEARLY as well as I think I do... another skill for me to work on! Thanks for taking the time to keep it simple for us!

If I got from 40 offset to 50 would that affect anything on my car?

Not sure if I understand the conversion. The face = 6 and 5/6 but when converted to mm, the number is bigger than the Center number. Did I miss something? Thanks.

What happens to the measurement when the tire is about an inch wider than the rim? When measuring for the centerline? And the second measurement

I'm sorry to keep bothering you, but you are the only one out there that seems to know what he is talking about. I figured you would not post videos if you did not want to help people. The offset I measured was ET35, but it says inside the wheel 42. What's going on? The wheel is aftermarket and has spokes that curve out pretty good. Would that be the problem

Did you measure an oem rim for your offset comparison or use a website?

I have a question hopefully you can answer. I have 15x7 rims with ET 10 stamped on the rim. I am looking to go to 17x7 with ET of 10 to 12 will this cause any problems? FYI these are only for the rear.

Hey bro great video! I am gonna bother you by asking a few questions lol. Well I have a BMW 3 series F-30 sedan its a 320d. (Not sure you get it in the states). Anyway I am thinking of upsizing my wheels and tyres. So I found a website which will deliver original BMW wheels at my place. So coming to the main question, my current wheels are 17" BMW 392 wheels 7.5Jx17 ET37 front and back. Now I have liked a set of wheels which are 19" BMW 641M wheels which are Front Wheels: 8.5Jx19 ET27 and Rear Wheels: 9Jx19 ET29. So there is a great deal of difference in the current ET and the new wheels. Will that cause any major problems as far as handling and driving is concerned? Also BMW recommends for the F30 sedan maximum wheel width to be 8.0 in the front and 8.5 in the back. Now i have really liked the new wheels, but should go for them? Or will it permanently damage my car? Thanks in advance!

Decent video but do you not have a metric tape measure ?? Save all the math and the possibility of errors

Can't you purchase measurement tools with the metric system?
